Be stubborn, reach your dreams pursue your causes!

 


16 years ago, we believed in the impossible, a sovereign Lebanon, free from the Syrian occupation that some small and fearful minds use to describe as a "transition presence"! 

We were few to form what History calls nowadays "the studentship resistance", a movement, characterized especially by "FPM", Lebanese forces, A7rar and Kataeb, and was the booster of a progressive wider political movement later on. In front of the Palace of Justice, on the 7th of August 2001, we were beaten, threatened and emprisoned for a cause we fortunately saw crowned by the Syrian army retreat 4 years later. Today, this same square has been renamed as the "7th of August square" 
To the noble memory of all camarades and fighters for a cause : Be stubborn, reach your dreams pursue your causes.

Hiroshima A Beyrouth!

  Le 4 Août 2020, au moment où nous croyions que le pire était atteint, à cette heure la plus cauchemardesque de l’Histoire du Liban, à 18h08, la troisième explosion la plus puissante de l’histoire de l’humanité après Hiroshima et Nagasaki, eȗt lieu au port de Beyrouth en dévastant la dernière dynamique d’espoir d’un peuple ravagé par une crise économique et politique sans précédent. Mis à part les causalités de la catastrophe, l’effet fȗt intense à l’égard de la psychologie collective de toute une ville, et d’une nation, au moment ou les Libanais exprimaient le plus grand besoin d’un brin d’espérance aspirant à un avenir, du moins qu’on puisse dire, acceptable.   Vingt-trois jours après ce cataclysme, le choc règne toujours sur nos esprits. لبنان، بين الجمود السياسي والتدهور الاقتصادي

يرى الحكماء القدامى الحياة كمحيطٍ كبيرٍ مضطرب، والإنسان هو قبطان مصيره، أي سفينته. مهما صعبت الظروف التي يواجهها، أيّ إنسانٍ حرّ الإرادة يعرف أنه سيلقى حتفه إذا ما توقّف عن القيادة. يذكّرني هذا التشبيه باقتباسٍ جميل من آينشتاين: "الحياة مثل ركوب الدراجة: إذا توقّفتَ عن التقدّم، ستفقد توازنك!" إذا ما نظرنا إلى مصير لبنان، سنرى أن أحداثه تزداد اضطراباً منذ فترة. إنتكاسةٌ بعد الأخرى، تبقى الديناميكية واحدة: التدهور. فالترابط بين السياسة والاقتصاد هو فعل الواقع ويضع لبنان وشعبه عند طريقٍ مسدود يبدو وكأنه لن ينفرج قريبًا. يمرّ لبنان بأزماتٍ عدّة: أزمةٌ إقتصادية حادة مع معدل تضخّم هائل. فخبير التضخّم ستيف هانك يضع بلاد الأرز مرتبتين وراء فينزويلا فقط! أضف إلى ذلك أزمة مالية غير مسبوقة زعزعت ثقة الأسواق. فلبنان أعلن رسميًا عدم قدرته على سداد دينه بالعملة الأجنبية الذي يصل إلى ٣٥ . ١ مليار (حتى شهر آب من عام ٢٠٢٠ )، ما يغرق البلد في أزمة سيولة، نظرًا إلى محدودية الاحتياطات لدى مصرف لبنان، فضلًا عن نقص الدولارات في سوق "مدولر". لذلك، تنهار القدرة الشرائية لدى اللبنا...
